The Lightning Thief is a book about a boy named Perseus who discovers he's the son of the Sea God Posiedon.
His mother takes him to a camp called Camp Half-Blood, after monsters started attacking him and his family.
Now Percy most figure out his true identity, why his father abandoned him and his mother, and save the camp from being accused of stealing Zeus's master bolt. He must go down into hell and save the bolt from Hades, who unfortunatly doesn't have it. When Percy gets out of hell and returns to the surface he discovers that Ares had stole it all along. Now he must battle to defend his name and not be killed by the Gods of Olympis.
